Visiting Fellows 2020-22

Tamar Halperin and Andreas Scholl

The countertenor Andreas Scholl and keyboard player Tamar Halperin are internationally recognised as soloists in their own right. Since 2007, they have worked together as the Scholl/Halperin duo.

As the Scholl/Halperin duo, Andreas and Tamar have performed a wide range of repertoire on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. They initiated, arranged, recorded, and produced “The Family Songbook”, a collection of (mostly children’s) songs in German, Hebrew, and English, dedicated to their daughter. The music on this album was performed together with twenty-five members of three generations of the Scholl-Halperin family from Israel & Germany, and recorded in their home studio during one week in the summer of 2018. They also released “Twilight People”, an album of contemporary folk song arrangements for piano and voice (2019).

Andreas and Tamar often teach together, applying a practical approach to questions of music performance and interpretation.
